care for over 1,000,000 archival records and library
items. They were transferred by over 100 government bureaux, departments,
offices or agencies and cover matters such as finance and commerce, education,
transportation, land development, and legal and social issues. These
rich and often unique information resources, dated from the mid 19th century to
the present, are held in different formats ranging from files, bound volumes,
photographs, posters, maps and plans to films. They are described according to
international standards in the Online Catalogues. Many are digitized for convenient
