The Cenotaph

Unveiled in 1923, the Cenotaph at Statue Square in Central was built to commemorate those who died in World War I. The years "1939-1945" were later added to honour the dead of World War II. In the 1980s, the Chinese inscription "英魂不朽 浩氣長存" was carved to complement the original English inscription.
