The Chinese War Memorial
The Chinese War Memorial located in the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens was erected to
commemorate the Chinese who fell in World War I. After World War II, the Hong Kong Government modified the
inscription on the Memorial to commemorate the Chinese who sacrificed their lives in the two World Wars.
Additional Story:
The Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens was renamed “Taisho Koyen” during the Japanese Occupation.
