The Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 10 was issued in 1962 when typhoon Wanda passed over the territory. Damages and casualties were widespread. 130 people were killed and 53 were missing. 2,053 small craft were wrecked, sunk and damaged and 36 ocean-going vessels were in trouble.

The archival record entitled "TYPHOON "WANDA" - 1ST SEPTEMBER 1962. REPORTS FROM DEPARTMENTS - SUB-FILE." (HKRS41-1-10475-2) contains Marine Department's report on effects on the ports by typhoon Wanda and photographs of the damages and shipwrecks involved.
